Colleen and Trip's wedding design was inspired with one hope in mind- gather the people they love in a setting that reflects who they are as a couple. After coming up short from an exhaustive search for a venue in Colleen's home state of Virginia, we resolved ourselves to a destination location, The Eastern Shore. The setting was perfect for two navy lovebirds that spent their free time sailing- a Maritime Museum with stunning waterfront views and a vintage boatshed for guests to sit amongst something they love, vintage sailboats.
The bride and groom arrived to the ceremony by boat from The Inn at Perry Cabin. It was important that their beloved dogs, companions for each of them while the other is away at sea, were a part of the ceremony.
The reception design was inspired by custom artwork created by a local Virginia artist that Colleen knew dearly growing up. "Fair winds and following seats", a play on the common navy phrase "fair winds and following seas" was intended for all of their fellow navy friends to smile when receiving a compass and their seat assignments.
